What is Power Yoga?

What is Power Yoga?

What is power yoga and why read about it? I mean, what can it do for you? Why even bother?  For beginners, power yoga derives from Vinyasa yoga and many other forms like Ashtanga.  Think of it more as energetic yoga.

Okaaaay, so what can Power Yoga do for you? It can do more than burn calories. It helps with focus, stamina, flexibility, and more. Power yoga is great for all levels, whether you are advanced or new to yoga. So stay tuned if you like being challenged, turning up the heat, and releasing toxins through your pores. Who knows, Power Yoga may be your thing.

Benefits of Power Yoga

There are so many benefits to power yoga. I know what you are thinking. There are plenty of benefits to yoga in general. As mentioned earlier, benefits include flexibility, strength, and stamina. The power of power yoga makes this practice rigorous. You are building internal heat and strength all at once while holding poses. Quite refreshing, isn’t it?

Can You Keep up?

The daunting question you may be wondering is, can you keep up? Of course, you can. Use  props if you are new and trying to build stamina. Hold the poses a little longer and slow your  pace down. Like anything in life, work your way up and watch how adaptable it becomes. So, do  you think you can keep up?

Is Power Yoga for You?

If looking good and feeling good is your goal, then power yoga is for you. Watch as your body get stronger, faster, and more flexible. Feel engaged and rejuvenated with your community at the end of every class. First, however, listen to your body. If ANYTHING doesn’t feel right, stop and take a breath. Always practice safe yoga and consult with your doctor.

Here at Yoga Tribe Brooklyn, we want you to try new classes, meet new people and reach your personal goals. So whether power yoga is for you or not, try it out and see where it takes you.  We appreciate your presence and will always be there for you. As always, we can’t wait to see you here!
