Make every day International Yoga Day at YTB

Make every day International Yoga Day at YTB

First things first, what is International Yoga Day? Why is it important? And why should you celebrate International Yoga Day, well, every day? By the end of this blog, you will see why you should celebrate your practice.

International Yoga Day is a day of yoga celebrated internationally on June twenty-first. Each year there is a theme. For the year 2021, the theme was “Yoga for Wellness.”

For the year 2022, the theme was “Yoga for Humanity.” This theme encourages those to bring to light humanity's physical, mental, and emotional state. In other words, yoga for humanity is to bring yoga to all both mentally, physically, and spiritually.

Why is International Yoga Day important? Why is it celebrated? This holiday is important and should be celebrated because it raises awareness worldwide and showcases the many benefits of practicing yoga.

Previous YTB blogs stress the benefits of yoga. You probably have concluded some of your own benefits from practicing yoga. Knowing what you know, yoga should be acknowledged and practiced by all. It should be available to everyone, regardless of age or race. International Yoga  Day is a way of bringing awareness to all. Children and adults should be aware of yoga and how it can fit easily into their lives.

I’m sure you have your reasons for practicing yoga at YTB. Maybe it's the sense of community you get at the studio or live streaming. Perhaps you feel good after every class, so you continue to go. Or maybe it’s because yoga has physically, mentally, and spiritually challenged you to be the better person you were the day before, so you continue to practice it.

Whatever your reasoning for practicing yoga is, your PRACTICE it faithfully. Your relationship to your yoga mat and practice is unique, beautiful, and yours to cherish. This should be celebrated every day as a reminder of how yoga benefits you in many ways.

I challenge you to celebrate International Yoga Day in your own way. You don’t have to post on your social media every day or talk strangers’ ears off about the benefits of yoga; however, you can celebrate it with those around you or alone. So, how are you going to celebrate yoga from here on out? We can’t wait to see how you do so here!
